Benefits of Renovating Your Kitchen

Increase The Value of Your Home

If you are looking to sell your house in the future, consider renovating your kitchen space. A renovated home can fetch a higher resale price on the real estate market and potential buyers will also look closely at the kitchen. By making repairs, adding new fixtures and updating the interior design, you are sure to raise the price of your home and turn buyers heads.

Save Time and Increase Efficiency when Preparing Meals

By renovating your kitchen space you can make sure that the kitchen area works for you. A cluttered and poorly designed kitchen will slow you down as you work. On the other hand a kitchen space with well thought out surfaces, storage spaces, plumbing and other fixtures will help you prepare meals with as little hassle as possible, allowing you to concentrate on preparing quality meals.

Add Increased Storage Space

It never hurts to have a little extra space for equipment, especially if you are an avid home cook. It can be a pain to run out of storage space for new pots, peelers and knives. Imagine having to stow them away every so often to make room as you cut, mix and plate meals. Renovating your kitchen can allow you to add shelves, cabinets and other areas for you to store away any utensils, cookware and other materials that will help in food preparation and storage.

Achieve the Kitchen Style that You Desire

When you bought your home chances are your kitchen space didn’t exactly fit the style that you wanted. Renovating your kitchen allows you to shape it’s layout and design and turn your ideas into a beautiful reality. This subsequently lets you control how people use your kitchen area. By redesigning your kitchen you will have more control over its functionality and ambience.

Make Your Kitchen Safe and Comfortable

A safe and comfortable kitchen can help give you peace of mind. Redesigning your kitchen space can help improve safety especially in a household with children. A kitchen renovation allows you to strategically position benchtops, appliances, and storage spaces so knives, scissors, and other cookware that are harmful are out of reach. Fixing and updating the plumbing can also help prevent gas leaks which also prevents accidents.

Enhances Functionality

Remodeling your kitchen will allow you to add, remove, or improve on its amenities to improve your cooking experience. Whether you are adding more floor or surface area, cabinets, and plumbing, you can tailor your kitchen to suit your needs. For example, if you can’t fit an oven in your kitchen space, you can redesign it to be able to accommodate one so you can roast and bake. This expands your culinary options and helps you enjoy more time in the kitchen.

Reduces Energy Costs

While renovating your kitchen may seem to be expensive at first glance, it will be more cost effective in the long run. Using outdated electric appliances and leaving in old power points and wires can add up over time and force you to shell out a lot of money on energy bills and repairs. On the other hand by using new electrical appliances and updating your kitchen facilities you can spare yourself additional utility costs.

Improves Sustainability

Renovations can allow you to build a more eco-friendly kitchen. You can use sustainable materials such as wood and recycled timber for your countertops, floor surfaces, and storage areas. You can also make use of more efficient water, electric, and gas systems that will help reduce your carbon footprint and energy wastage. This will help you cut household costs and save the environment.

Sell Your Home for a Higher Price

Compared to a house that has been left untouched since say, the early 2000s, a freshly renovated home can command a higher price point and will be easier to sell. Home buyers will be more inclined to purchase houses at higher prices if they are well-built, good looking and complete with facilities that will let them live in comfort with their families. Remodeling your kitchen will help make your home more attractive to prospective buyers as they will look closely at the kitchen.

The Creation of Your Dream Kitchen

Remodeling your kitchen will help you live the life you want. You’ve worked so hard to build your dream home and now is the time for you to make this dream come true. Whether you want a modern design or a more rustic feel, we can remodel your kitchen to match the style that you want. Express your creativity by designing and building the kitchen that you have always wanted.

Types of Kitchen Renovations

One Wall Kitchen

If you’re looking to keep your kitchen layout simple you can design it so your key appliances and kitchen cabinets all line up along one side of the room. This will save you a lot of space and money. This is the most affordable option. This style of kitchen also streamlines the way you use the room, as all of your surfaces will be within reach of each other. Note that you’ll need at least a 2.4 metre benchtop for optimal placement.

Galley Kitchen

For smaller kitchen areas, you can have your surfaces and appliances run parallel to each other with 1.6 metres between the sink and the cooktop. With this setup it’s best to use mounted and base cabinets to store your pots, pans, and other cookware to save space. This layout works best for 1 or 2 cooks at a time, as it can get crowded rather quickly.

L Shaped Kitchen

One of the more popular options nowadays, the L-shaped design involves using two walls that form an L. Many open plan homes use this layout because it allows you to accommodate a dining area in the room which is ideal for smaller dwellings. Note that you will need at least 1.2 metres between the countertop and the dining table. This setup involves using corner cabinets and the back of the corner cabinets may be hard to reach.

U Shaped Kitchen

For maximum cabinet and counter space this is the best option, that is, if you don’t mind feeling a bit enclosed. This is among the more widely used layouts because it fits most spaces, especially in older homes. You can place the sink near the cooktop so you streamline your workflow and make sure that you everything is in place and within reach. You may even find a middle island works well in some households.

Island Kitchen

If you have an abundance of floor space and would like an open kitchen area this may be the setup for you. This involves an island in the middle of the kitchen, which you can use as a bench top, storage area, appliances or a second sink. You can also add seats to the island. Adding pendant lights above this island will create a beautiful aesthetic effect. A great design and with good planning you can ensure a smooth cooking workflow with this layout.

G Shaped or Peninsula Kitchen

Also known as the peninsula setup, this fuses the U-Shaped design with an extension surrounded by open area on three sides. With this layout you can place tall appliances such as fridges close to each other or side by side. This will provide you with lots of counter and storage space and allows you to interact with other people or peer through the room as you work, though it can be a little claustrophobic.
